Predicts the Longhorns’ next commitment after D’antre Robinson

Texas football head coach Steve Sarkisian reached his 15th commitment in the 2024 recruiting class and third on the defensive line on July 20 with highly sought-after four-star Orlando (FL) Jones defensive lineman Dantre Robinson.

A towering 6-foot-4, 315-pound Florida native, Robinson chose Texas over offers from the Florida Gators, Florida State Seminoles, Miami Hurricanes, Alabama Crimson Tide, Ohio State Buckeyes, LSU Tigers and Georgia Bulldogs. Texas ultimately beat out the Gators in a tough battle for Robinson’s commitment on the recruiting trail this summer.

Robinson’s jump in that category gives the Longhorns a whopping 13,2024 commitments since the start of the official visit season. That recruiting trail for Sark and the Longhorns staff in the 2024 class began June 17, when Scottsdale (AZ) Desert Mountain four-star cornerback Santana Wilson committed to Texas.

And it looks like the Longhorns aren’t far off that big recruiting trail for the 2024 class late this summer. Here’s a prediction for the next recruit to commit to the Longhorns 2024 class after Texas lands Robinson on July 20.

TJ Lindsey, DL

Having Robinson in the 2024 class leaves a couple of primary defensive players for the Longhorns heading into the fall. The first is touted four-star IMG Academy defensive lineman TJ Lindsey.

The former Bryant (AR) defensive lineman standout has Texas high on his list after a successful official visit to Austin last month. The race for Lindsey’s commitment will come down to Texas and the Auburn Tigers.

Auburn has made a big push in this recruiting this summer. The Tigers are probably the school that prioritized Lindsey the most since his official visit to Auburn the weekend of June 2nd.

Lindsey is expected to decide on the start of his senior season at IMG Academy next month. If Texas pushes harder in the final days of this recruitment, it could get the Lindseys committed to Auburn.
