JW Marriott Essex House New York announces its debut today Central Park Suite Collection, three stunning luxury suites that pay homage to the hotel’s iconic front lawn: Central Park. Designed by Whitespace Interiors, each completely reimagined suite tells its own story through design, art and other details inspired by individuals who have helped shape New York’s cultural landscape since the hotel opened in 1931. With breathtaking views, thoughtful amenities and an inspiring art collection, the Central Park Suite collection continues JW Marriott’s luxurious, spiritual approach where guests can find a mindful approach and balance.

The Central Park Suite Collection consists of three distinct environments including:

Artisans Terrace Suite (1619)
Named after the “Artisans’ Gate” – the 7th Avenue entrance to Central Park – this bold, contemporary interpretation of Art Deco design pays tribute to the fine craftsmanship and enduring heritage of the city’s artisans. Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue” includes an installation made of disassembled piano keys in one bedroom and a blue, hand-painted, overscaled abstract mural in the living room, and the suite captures the essence of the Jazz Age through geometric shapes and vibrant colors. The lobby’s checkered marble floor and raw porcelain dishes in the lobby, soft creamy Venetian plaster, a mix of textures add depth to the design. Artisans Terrace Suite’s ornate hardware reflects the skill of working by hand to thoughtfully combine form and function. Other highlights include a wrap-around terrace with seating for relaxing or entertaining; miniature putting green and table tennis set; a fully equipped kitchenette with its own entrance to the service; and a training mirror. The 2,000 square meter Artisans Terrace Suite can accommodate up to four people (two king-size beds). Starting price $10,000.

Meadow Terrace Suite (3205)
The epitome of sophisticated, ornate and feminine design, the classic yet contemporary Meadow Terrace Suite was inspired by the legendary Elsie de Wolfe, a renowned Manhattan interior designer and ward known for her luxurious eye. Natural light is embraced by large windows and a terrace with mesmerizing views of Central Park and Columbus Circle, and sweeping vistas invite the beauty of the outdoors to blend seamlessly with the luxurious interior. Every part of the suite reflects de Wolfe’s commitment to elegant indulgence and meticulous detail, starting in the foyer with a three-dimensional, handmade bas-relief triptych adorned with flowers and peacocks. Other design highlights include an intricately designed marble casement, a second bedroom with a pair of queen-size beds (ideal for families) and a fully equipped kitchenette with its own entrance. Fine terrace views of Central Park’s sheep meadow offer guests an inviting place to relax, enjoy the peace of nature and enjoy the iconic views. The 2,000 square meter Meadow Terrace suite can accommodate up to six people (one king bed, two double beds and a sleeper). Starting price $12,500.

Delacorte Presidential Suite (2601)
Rooted in nature, with a palette inspired by the flora and fauna of the park below, the Delacorte Presidential Suite honors George T. Delacorte, founder of Dell Publishing and NYC philanthropist. His dedication to the beautification and preservation of Central Park is widely recognized today as he generously funded the Alice in Wonderland sculpture, the Delacorte Clock, and most famously the Delacorte Theater, which houses the free Shakespeare in the Park. A tranquil sanctuary in the sky, colors and textures reflect the abundant greenery below, bringing the outside in through features such as the dining room’s silk-painted abstract forest mural on marble surfaces that mimic the shimmering colors of a pond. A careful redesign maximizes space through an impressive entrance, open plan living and dining area with a table for eight made from sustainably sourced wood. The 2,500 square meter Delacorte Presidential Suite can accommodate up to six people (two king-size beds and one Murphy bed). Starting price $15,000.
