India’s men’s and women’s hockey teams are aiming for success in Spain

The Indian men’s and women’s hockey teams are determined to produce their best in the Spanish Hockey Federation’s 100th anniversary international tournament, which begins on Tuesday in Terrassa, Spain.

The tournament will see the Indian men’s national hockey team play against formidable rivals England, the Netherlands and the host nation Spain.

The women’s team will also face England and Spain.

The tournament is of particular importance for the Indian men as it serves as a preparatory event for them ahead of the much-awaited Hero Asian Champions Trophy to be held in Chennai from 3-12. ahead of the Hangzhou Asian Games in August.

“The tournament in Spain will provide us with an ideal platform to fine-tune our strategies and gauge our abilities against formidable opponents. This crucial event will act as a litmus test to identify areas for improvement and will ultimately play a key role in our preparations for both the prestigious Asian Champions Tournament and the highly anticipated Asian Games,” said Harmanpreeth India.

“We strongly believe that this valuable exposure will improve our performance and strengthen our readiness to take on future challenges.” On the other hand, Indian women will try to get a good start in the tournament by winning the first game.

The Spanish Hockey Federation’s centenary international tournament provides the perfect opportunity for the Indian women’s hockey team to work on their shortcomings ahead of the all-important Asian Games.

“The Spain tour is an excellent opportunity for us to recover and show resilience and determination. Throughout the tour, our primary focus will be on fostering a united team spirit and executing strategies,” Indian women’s team skipper Savita said.

“Our ultimate goal is to stay true to our unique style of play and utilize the invaluable lessons learned from the previous tour.
