Mawuko Afadzinu was elected a member of the board of the International Table Tennis Federation

Mawuko Afadzinu, President of the Ghana Table Tennis Federation (GTTA), has been elected a board member of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), the highest governing body in the sport.

This is the first time a Ghanaian has risen to the top of world table tennis since Ghana joined the table tennis community in 1951.

At the 2021 General Assembly of the African Table Tennis Association, held in practice on Saturday 5 June for COVID-19, Afadzinu was elected to serve for four years along with seven other African table tennis masters.

This success he achieved comes at a time when his administration is successfully hosting the Junior and Cadet World Championships in Ghana in 2019 for the first time in more than a decade and also the establishment of a national table tennis center in Accra. 32 (32) of table tennis.

Mr. Afadzinu said that God wants me to serve on the ITTF board for the next four years. My primary role is to create opportunities for the table tennis fraternity and take the game to new vistas like never before

My three-line strategy will be; understand how the system works so we can make it work for us, connecting with the right people to help us, and getting it done quickly and well.

Ghana will participate in the World Table Tennis Championships in Houston, USA in November this year.
