With the Texas football program now fully in the middle of summer / practice and a bunch of new entrants joining the team, things will move less than 100 days from the start of the 2021 regular season. Texas have opened the regular season at home on September 4 against Louisiana.

It’s the second time new head coach Steve Sarkisian will step on the field at Darrell K.Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium for some type of gaming activity with this program. The first was at the spring football game on April 24th.

In addition, summer training is usually not an offseason time that gets a lot of attacks on the media. Given that the actual contact drills or any gaming activities don’t happen in the middle of the offseason, then it makes sense.

Summer practice could differentiate a few Texas football from many many in 2021

But there are still some threatening stories that are important to watch during the late summer. Texas needs to get the guys ready for the 2021 season under a completely new coach. And this is the second year in a row that the Longhorns handed over essentially the entire coaches.

During the last break, former head coach Tom Herman got stuck, but many of the people around him changed.

Now Sark wants to take this program to new heights and do what Herman couldn’t. This task for Sark is something that started in winter training more than four months ago and continues throughout the offseason.

With that in mind, here’s a look at five Longhorns players with a lot to prove in summer practice.
