Alabama football added a wild name to the list
In the past, we’ve seen a lot of crazy names in college football. From Cassanova McKinzy to Smoke Monday at Bumper Pool to Edgar Allan Poe’s Master Teage, a lot of elite names have come and gone in the history of the sport. Even Alabama football’s Ha Ha Clinton-Dix deserves an honorable mention. Still, Alabama has an all-time timer on the list in 2021.
Ga’Quincy McKinstry is on the Alabama list this season as a freshman corner, and that name would be neat enough. However, he is officially listed as Kool-Aid Alabama online listing.
McKinstry used to have this nickname, but now it’s officially called Tide fans and players. This brings a variety of opportunities to the forefront. When he makes the play, fans can shout Kool-Aid Man’s iconic “Oh Yeah”. Jokes are made about how he is ready to run for Alabama football. If NIL laws are ever passed, he could become a sponsor of a beverage business.
Both McKinstry and Ha Ha Clinton-Dix were highly advertised defensive rear views. Clinton-Dix was selected in the first round after playing plays and winning the title for Crimson Tide, and McKinstry certainly wants to follow in his footsteps.
The corner spot has an opening for Alabama football due to the loss of Patrick Surtain. There may be more experienced players on the list, but few athletes have the talent of Kool-Aid. There is a realistic possibility that he will make a name for himself and become the main assistant already during the freshman season.
Auburn is mostly known for players with iconic names. They have seen Tank Bigsby, Kerryon Johnson, Smoke Monday, Noah Igbinoghene and McKinzy in recent seasons. With Kool-Aid McKinstry, Alabama might take it awful.
