Television viewers watched in horror as the cameras kept moving as medical professionals performed chest compressions on the 29-year-old when he suddenly fell off the field after 42 minutes on Saturdays at Copenhagen Park Stadium.
Several shots, including through the players ’feet, showed Eriksen receiving treatment before he cut for his clearly anxious wife at the stadium, who was comforted by Danish captain Simon Kjaer and goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel.
Doctors worked at Eriksen for almost 20 minutes before he was resuscitated and brought to the hospital.
UEFA, the tournament governing body, said the offensive midfielder was in a stable state, while the Danish Football Association said he was awake. The match resumed at 18:30 GMT.
While many users quickly flooded social media with prayers about Eriksen, many users also beat national television companies for their coverage and pay tribute to Danish players.
