Bernstine won her first title on the same tennis court, with both Chase and Ryan playing as part of Virginia Tech’s men’s tennis.
I was really excited to hear it was in Virginia Tech because I love the town of Blacksburg, Bernstine Jr. said.
His brother Chase was able to come out to see how he became a state champion.
He is really supportive; he has always been so nice to me as his eldest brother and i couldn’t really ask him any more because he did everything over the weekend and took me to matches, took me to lunch, he warmed me up at 7 in the morning
Growing up in a tennis family, Father Mark Bernstine is a tennis professional at Hermitage Country Club and the younger brother of two high-level tennis players. Evan said he owes all things to his parents Mark and Diane.
My father has taught me everything I know about strokes, physically, my mother has taught me everything I know [on] how to compete and enjoy myself there, Evan said. I only have two really supportive parents. I got really lucky with two brothers to train, an institution where to practice. It’s just kind of unrealistic, but I’m really grateful for it.
