(WNDU) – Former hockey star Notre Dame begins a long journey.
Former Deputy Captain of the Irish Icers, Stephen Johns, announced he was leaving hockey and dealing with a new adventure.
Johns has stated that he has been battling depression for years and wants to help others face the same battle.
What you need most about the game of hockey is inspiration, Johns published on Instagram.
Johns announced on social media on Sunday that as of Monday, he would be rolling around the United States to help fighters of depression.
His journey is documented.
If I can still inspire one person to climb out of their opening, then it’s a successful journey and that’s exactly what I’m aiming for, Johns said in his Instagram post.
On Monday, Johns announced he was somewhere in Ohio.
