There have been releases for Auburn football fans predicting pitfalls for the coming season, and some releases suggest the team could go 6-6 in 2021.
If the Tigers go 6-6, the upcoming season must realistically include losses to a team like Ole Miss, which will get substantial advance sales due to a potential 2022 NFL QB Matt Corral game.
It could also include a loss to South Carolina … for the second consecutive season. As the Gamecocks failed to break the top 75 in recruitment and for the most part weakened outside their shocked victory over Auburn football at Williams-Brice Stadium, it seems as likely as the state of Alabama made the trip north on I-85 and picked up in shock. Before Auburn left the field against the two teams, a significant moral victory was achieved on the recruitment route when Auburn camp MVP Camden Brown – who received an AU offer in mid-May before making a 620-mile hike from Fort Lauderdale last week – said the program was “the best school” that shows him “the most love”.
Even better, he enjoyed coaches with whom he also spends time:
“(Auburn’s) best school that has shown the most love,” Brown said.
Brown, a Class 2022 receiver, received an offer from Auburn in mid-May. A month later, he had the opportunity to see the coaches and the campus in person, and he walked away impressed.
“Better than I thought I was,” Brown said.
Not only did Brown learn a lot from the trip, he also had to start building relationships with coaches. He said he spent time with head coach Bryan Harsin, defense coordinator Derek Mason and extensive reception coach Cornelius Williams. He described them as “cool friends.”
Since Ole Miss and South Carolina were part of a faction that wanted to reel in Sunshine State’s 3-star WR, it’s clear that Auburn football still has the university’s football column cache.
Wins on the field during the opening season on the field for Bryan Harsin and others. only helps to strengthen the 2022 class. Yet the history and human experience of the plateau wins in the eyes of most recruiters all the way to Oxford and Columbia.
