Lots of drama in DI
The first two seeds moved forward with just a small push, but the other two semi-finals did a great job of earning their place in the Division I playoffs.
Top seed North Kingstown swept the No. 8 Cranston East on Tuesday and No. 2 Hendricken won the No. 3 La Salle 3-1 winner on Monday, but the real fun happened in other matches.
On Monday, No. 4 South Kingstown dropped the first two sets of No. 5 to Chariho, then attacked back to pull a five-set win. The rebels will play their rival Skippers on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
Meanwhile, No. 6 Mount St. Charles dropped the first set to 3rd place in Coventry, winning the next two, was 29-27 in an exciting fourth set at the wrong end before closing out the fifth 15-11 to get the semi-finals. The Mounties will play Hawks on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in Hendricken.
D-II semifinals almost ready
One match remains in the D-II quarters and will be played today as No. 7 Westerly, who swept Lincoln No. 10 on Monday, will play at Cranston West on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
The winner will play in the third East Greenwich, which swept No. 6 West Warwick on Wednesday.
At the top of Fork No. 4, North Smithfield pulled a dramatic five-set win over No. 5 Pilgrim. Northmen will play high-end Classical, who worked hard on Tuesday night among nine Tolman. Purple will host North Smithfield on a date to be determined.
D-III semis Wednesday
Well, the first championship match is set for Wednesday night when the D-III wrap up the semi-finals.
No. 1 Johnston, who earned past hosts No. 5 at St. Raphael at 5 p.m., the Saints grind a five-round victory at No. 4 Burrillville on Monday.
At the bottom of the fastener No. 2 MB. Hope hosts No. 3 Woonsocket. The Huskies were over, while Villa Novans swept Exeter-West Greenwich No. 6 on Tuesday night.

DI quarters end on Wednesday
The semi-finals are not quite located in the state department.
On Wednesday, No. 6 Hendricken will play in No. 3 Moses Brown to determine the place of the final semi-final. The winner will play No. 2 Barrington, who swept No. 7 Lincoln on Tuesday.
No. 5 South Kingstown won a dramatic 4-3 victory over No. 4 Wheeler. The rebels will play in the semifinals No. 1 against La Salle, who handled No. 8 Smithfield. That semi-final will take place on Thursday at 4 pm in La Salle.
Division II final four sets
The top four seeds hit the flag for the D-II semifinals on Tuesday quite convincingly.
No. 1 Mount St. Charles swept No. 8 Cranston West and plays No. 4 Tiverton, who won No. 5 in Middletown 4-2.
At the bottom of the fork, No. 3 Cumberland won 4-2 over 6 Classicals and will play No. 2 in the North Kingstown semi-finals.
The times and dates were not immediately known for the D-II semifinals.
Chalk wins D-III
There were no disruptions in the semi-finals of the D-IV playoffs.
No. 1 Ponaganset swept No. 8 East Providence and advanced to the semifinals. The Chieftains hosted No. 4 in Portsmouth, which rose to Johnston / Scituate No. 5 on Tuesday at 4.30pm on Wednesday.
No. 2 Westerly was a 4-1 winner from regional rival Chariho, No. 7. The Bulldogs hosted No. 3 Burrillville on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at Rotary Park. The Broncos toppled No. 6 Providence Country Day 4-1 on Tuesday afternoon.
D-IV will finish the semi-finals
Sweeps was the name of the game in the D-IV quarterfinals.
St. Raphael was the only team to deserve a throw, No. 2 North Smithfield and No. 3 Cranston East joined the Saints, as well as No. 5 Exeter-West Greenwich.
The Northerners swept No. 7 to North Providence, the Thunderbolts did the same to No. 6 Central, and the Scarlet Knights came through with commanding shock at No. 4 in Woonsocket.
The dates and times of the semi-final round were not announced on Tuesday night. This story will be updated when they become official.
