Defibrillator damaged near a village near Chichester

Chris Newberry coached in table tennis on Friday night (June 18) when he noticed defibrillator damage outside the village of North Mundham.

Chris said: I found a resuscitation device and one defibrillator pads open from the ground.

This would have meant that the defibrillator could not have been used in an emergency.

Chris saw a group of girls sheltering next to the defibrillator shortly before the injury was found. He has reported the damage to Hall Director Terry Reed, who will arrange equipment replacement pads.

He added, I hope it was just a thoughtless act, perhaps a little curious and not intentional, but in light of the publicity surrounding the collapse of Christian Eriksen, one can hope that they would make more sense.

The incident takes place less than a week after the football club’s defibrillator series was blown up at Buxted FC in East Sussex, just hours after Danish international Christian Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest during the match.
