Michigan State football just got its third commitment in a month.
Michael Masunas, 2022 Tight Head of Hamilton High School in Chandler, Ariz., announced his commitment to the Spartans on Saturday afternoon via Twitter. It followed an official visit to East Lansing last weekend.
6-foot-5 and 235 pounds, Masunas doesn’t have a 247Sports Composite rating, but the 247Sports is listed as a three-star potential and No. 77 tight end in the 2022 class. His other offerings include Florida State, Arizona and Tennessee.
Among high school teammates, Masunas is a 2022 four-star quarterback and Michigan State destination Nicco Marchiol, who officially visited East Lansing earlier this month and is scheduled to announce his commitment on Monday.
The state of Michigan now has eight commitments to the 2022 recruitment class, and Masunas is the only tight end. Georgia’s three-star security inspector Quavian Carter and Colorado’s three-star offensive bus Braden Miller both committed to the Spartans last week.
