What does the 12-team bracket mean for CU Buffs and CSU Rams?

Bad side? Christmas in Kalamazoo.

Where faithful CU-Buffis found themselves in Christmas 2016 – if The College Football Playoff had been on the 12-team field five years ago.

Up? $ 27 million.

What could CU athletics collect as a collected share of the total annual postseason income if the CFP expands to a dozen schools as expected.

That’s three times more than Buff’s reported share of $ 9 million in annual revenue from Pac-12. On the bright side, $ 27 million could buy a terrible amount of parks and hot cocoa to ward off the worst that a winter trip to the Great Lakes region would offer.

College football fans should be excited, Chuck Neinas, a former Boulder-based former Big 12 and Big Eight commissioner, told the Post recently after asking about the expansion of the CFP, which is expected to take place before the 11 university presidents and chancellors vote in Dallas on Tuesday.

It increases interest in sports. Its wide-ranging, widespread and I think they did an admirable job of finding a way to promote the sport, not to mention a meaningful championship, now the games in late October and November mean something for a lot more people.

What on the table

In the proposal which was announced on June 10th, the new apparent CFP will include a 12-team field anchored by the six FBS conference champions with the highest ranking as determined by the selection committee, as well as the six major teams in the highest rank.

Despite some Pac-12 resistance, there is currently no automatic seat for each Power 5 conference champion. And there are no limits to how many schools from one league could get into the 12-team.

It was the biggest shock to me when it came out, Pac-12 Network analyst Yogi Roth told the Post. But it is almost important to note that if one president (in the group) disagrees, then the whole agreement breaks down. So I’m sure there was a lot of negotiation in that (case) case.

Under the new form, the champion of the top four leagues would get the overtakes as the seed of the top four. The first round games would be on campus venues, with 5 hosting 12, 6 hosting 11, 7 hosting 10 and 8 hosting 9. The rest of the tournament would fall closely in line with the current format as the national semi-finals and semi-finals are held in a bowl with matches and championship on a neutral site.
