After Grant Hermanns had a left rigging point locked in throughout Jeff Brohm’s tenure, Purdue needs a new man from the top of the field. It could be today’s player.
Eric Miller – Jr.
Mason, Ohio (William Mason HS)
67, 305 pounds
Offensive line
Projection for 2021: A potential starter
To me, it tells something that Purdue has a lot of potential starters on the offensive line. In reality, it has a lot of guys with experience both as a backup and as beginners, but we need to figure out the positions. Gus Hartwig is probably the center. Tyler Witt probably has a guard post. Greg Long probably has a tackle point. This leaves two seats open.
Miller has the size you want in the left tackle. It’s usually the spot for the highest guy on the line. He has played 17 of the last 18 matches and has grabbed a couple of starts at that time. He has also been twice nominated for an Academic all-Big Ten selection. However, can he move to the role of beginner full time?
