Charolais is still an unbeatable leader in the Lithgow Table Tennis Association’s winter competition after the third round was played in the Old Market Hall. Two 4-0 runs from Charolais suspended with a 2-0 result for Grippers saw Charolais on a commanding 8-2 break near the middle. The grabbers were able to reduce the deficit by just one as Charolais took an irresistible 13-8 lead in the doubles, and continued their dominance by winning both by a 2-1 margin to get a nice 17-10 win. Charolais split catches as Jason Bailey went 4-2, Sean Jenkins 5-3 and Peter Jaccoud 4-3. Veteran Lou Kappos (6-1) played a lonely hand for the still undefeated Grippers, while Pauline Wellfare and Mark McAulay both struggled with a 1-6 record.
