Wisconsin Badgers men’s hockey: COLE CAUFIELD goes to the Stanley Cup final!

You may remember three months ago that Cole Caufield set fire to the University of Wisconsin Badgers in the world of hockey with his tendency to score goals at a dizzying pace, which resulted in him winning the Hobey Baker Award. Well, if, after following his career, you ended the embarrassing first round of Wisconsins in the losing NCAA tournament, you, my friend, have lost your WILD ride.

Caufield signed Montreal Canadiens, the team that selected him, and after a few small league matches, were invited to the big leagues. Since then, he has been part of a line-up that has taken Habit from the last team to place his playoffs in freaking Stanley Cup finals.

On Thursday night, the Canadiens won Vegas Golden Knights 3-2 overtime to get a berth in the final, and Caufield scored a goal in the second period to give Montreal a 2-1 lead.

The aforementioned was the fourth finish in the Caufields conference finals. Caufield can’t legally buy his own beer in his hometown of Stevens Point, but he can certainly send it to the Vegas-packed desert.

Caufield is the Fifth player to skate on the NCAA team and perform Stanley Cup Final in the same season. The first two of the four also played Badgers. List:

In the playoffs, Caufield now has four goals and five assists, and a couple of goals come in the man’s favor. Hell gets to the Stanley Cup final with a two-match goal tube and who wins the 7th game Lightning in the Gulf of Tampan/New York Islanders series better watch out.
