Sri Lankan cricketers were suspended due to a burst of biocubbles in England

Sri Lankan cricket (SLC) on Monday stopped three players, including batsman Kusal Mendis and guard Niroshan Dickwella, from breaking the biobubble during an ongoing English tour and ordered them to return to the country immediately.

Two co-opener Danushka Gunathilakan was seen passing the streets of Durham on Sunday night after the final T20 race against England, which Sri Lanka lost in a massive 89 runs.

All three players were part of Game XI.

“The Sri Lankan Cricket Executive Committee has suspended Kusal Mendis, Danushka Gunathilaka and Niroshan Dickwella for breaking the biobubble, and they will be called back immediately to Sri Lanka,” SLC Secretary Mohan De Silva said in a statement.

SLC chief Shammi Silva reacted to a video sent by a Sri Lankan fan, “an investigation is ongoing because they have violated the code of conduct.”

Sri Lanka fell 0-3 in the T20 series that ended on Sunday. This was the Islanders ’Fifth Direct Series Loss in T20 International Competitions since October 2020.

The defeat led former large forces such as Sanath Jayasuriya, Muttiah Muralithara, Roshan Mahanama, Hashan Thilakaratne and Tillekaratne Dilshan to express their appalling performance.

Sri Lanka will play the first of three ODIs with England on Tuesday at Chester le Street.
