Alabama Crimson Tide is tightening future football schedules

[ad_1]

Nick Saban has long been the sole supporter of nine conference games in the SEC. He has also preached the gospel of all Power 5 teams that only play Power 5 teams. The 2020 season showed the entertainment value of both scenarios.

College football fans have shown their cupcake exhaustion against opponents of non-Power 5 and FCS. The most obvious forms of fans are less capacity seating and early departures from such matches on game day. Yet Saban has continued to schedule – and strangle these fewer teams. The belief was that he didn’t want to be the only one who took the risk of scheduling. However, the Alabama coach may have achieved near-perfection in what he calls the process, and is now ready to set an example.

FINAL KICKOFF CLASSIC

This season’s inauguration against Miami in Atlanta marks the last neutral Kickoff game for Crimson Tide in the near future. Alabama is 10-0 in these one-off games (11-0 if you count Alabama’s 16-10 loss State of Ohio in 1986, the Kickoff Classic played at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ). Each of these games that Bama has played under Saban has resulted in a double-digit victory.

2008 Alabama 34 Clemson 10 Atlanta
2009 Alabama 34 Virginia Tech 24 Atlanta
2012 Alabama 41 Michigan 14 Arlington, Texas
2013 Alabama 35 Virginia Tech 10 Atlanta
2014 Alabama 33 West Virginia 23 Atlanta
2015 Alabama 35 Badger State 17 Arlington, Texas
2016 Alabama 52 South Cal 6 Arlington, Texas
2017 Alabama 24 State of Florida 7 Atlanta
2018 Alabama 51 Louisville 14 Orlando
2019 Alabama 42 Duke 3 Atlanta
2020 Alabama vs. South Cal Arlington, TX – Canceled
2021 Alabama vs. Miami Atlanta

In 2010 and 2011, Alabama took home-home both ends with Penn State: 24-3 in Tuscaloosa and 27-11 in University Park, PA. Such two-game series are the future of Alabama football.

CHANGE IN THE SEA

Saban and Grab Byrne, Alabama’s director of athletics, are leading the change in college football. In recent weeks, the university announced upcoming home and home series with Boston College, State of Oklahoma and Our Lady. These meetings will be added to Oklahoma, Ohio and State of Florida. The most significant difference is that from 2025 onwards, Crimson Tide will play two Power 5 conferences.

The future of football schedules for the Alabama Crimson Tide is lagging behind.

2021

  • vs. Miami (FL) (Atlanta) – Can you believe these two teams have not met since the 1992-93 national championships?
  • The other three games are cupcakes.

  • at Texas – Another match that has not taken place since the national championship. This victory was Bama’s first victory over Texas in the history of Crimson Tide football (1-7-1). Alabama has not played in Austin since 1922. Six meetings have since been in the post-season bowl.
  • The other three games are cupcakes.

2023

  • Texas – The Longhorns only visited Tuscaloosa for the second time. The first was in a game played in 1902 on a quadilla.
  • Alabama has two conference openings to be filled outside the Longhorns and a trip to the USF. Can they find another P-5 team?

2024

  • at Badger State – Alabama has only been to Madison once, losing in 1928. Bama broke his record against Wisky 1-1 with a neutral site win of 35:17 in 2015, which was a memorable moment when there was a concussion behind the concussions. violation.
  • Alabama has yet another non-conference venue to fill after WKU, USF and Wisky.

2025

  • at State of Florida – First visit to Tallahassee tide.
  • Badger State – Dachshunds’ first visit to the T-city.

2026

  • at State of Oklahoma – The only second meeting was Joe Kines ’loss to the Independence Bowl in 2006. And even though Coach O was inconsistent. Meanwhile, Mal Moore buried the plan …

2029

  • at Our Lady – Bear Bryant was 0-4 against the Irish. Saban is 2-0.
  • State of Oklahoma – Is Mike Gundy still near Stillwater in 2029? He was once 40, but hell 62 in 2029.

2030

  • at Georgia Tech – A series was planned for these two teams a few years ago, but it was canceled. They have not met the divine effort of Bama in 1984.

  • Another game of TBA

LEADS BY EXAMPLE

Of the other teams in the conference, Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina had already followed this form of the two non-conference Power-5 games to some extent due to their annual competitions with the ACC teams. Other SEC programs haven’t quite picked up on this model, and they’re also playing a running space unless they start shuffling soon.

  • Arkansas there are no two P-5 teams scheduled on the same season. The year 2025 is the first season where they still have a game.
  • Auburn nor are two P-5 teams planned for the same season. Tigers have a secure riveting with two ferries to Cali in 2023–2024, but they also have the option to add another drug in each campaign.

  • After taking 2020 out, Florida returns to its annual meeting with the State of Florida. A few times in recent seasons, the Gators have played for both the states of Miami and Florida in the same season. They copied this presentation in 2024 and 2025. They have two P5s scheduled for 2022-2032 and in some cases three With P5s like 2026 NC State, Cal and FSU. In 2031, they will play ambitiously in Texas, State of Arizona, Notre Dame and the State of Florida. Respect.
  • Georgia will merge with Georgia Tech in 2021, as they have done 114 times before. Dawgs often plays another P5 with a yellow jacket game and will do so in the near future from Clemson this year. From 2026, they will choose a third P5 host UCLA and traveling to Louisville. They will continue to triple in P5s 2027-2031, adding Jeans, Ohio State, Oklahoma and several other games with Clemson – many in the same season.
  • Kentucky is Louisville and three cupcakes dancing for the next seven seasons.
  • LSU and State of Mississippi have not received a memorandum. They have not yet registered for another P5.
  • Mizzou There are three cupcakes and one P5 already sewn by 2031. The following season, 2032, the Tigers will have awesome Kansas and more awesome Illinois.
  • Be Miss there is only one double on the horizon in 2025 – in southern Cal and at home vs. Wake Forest.
  • South Carolina plays Clemson every year. They will begin to double in 2023, followed by 2025-2031.
  • It is unclear what the former is Tennessee AD Fat F *** Phil Fulmer was doing during his turbulent tenure. Past the 2023 campaign, he has only FOUR total games lined up for Vols – by far the least of the SEC programs. They do not have double clicks.
  • Texas A&M there are no two P-5 teams scheduled on the same season. The year 2025 would be the first season in which a potential gap will be opened.

WANT

Alabama currently has a losing streak for 11 teams. It is hoped to reverse this trend in Boston College, Georgia Tech and Oklahoma State in the coming seasons. However, there are a few other programs that need their Tide input!

  • Alabama embarrassedly lost the home and both ends of the home against the mediocre UCLA teams in 1999 and 2000. The only second match between the two teams was the tide won by the 1976 Liberty Bowl. (1-2)
  • Sugar bowl for the 2008 season makes me still sick with my stomach. It’s the only time Alabama has met Utah in the grid. (0-1)
  • Crimson Tide lost the Homecoming game Central Florida During Mike DuBoses ’horrific 3-8 season in 2000. After the game, he was told his services were no longer needed at Capstone. (0-1)
  • Clemson – Is there a reminder of a mast meeting too soon? (14-5)
  • Alabama actually has TWO game losing streak Louisiana Tech – 1997 and 1999. Yep, it was also DuBose. (3-2)
  • The only meeting ever Minnesota, Bama limped to the 2004 Music City Bowl with a 6-5 record and left 6-6. (0-1)
  • 2003 saw Northern Illinois come to Bryant-Denny and sigh the tide 19-16. Future Falcons All-Pro RB Michael Turner ran 156 yards. (0-1)
  • The game of revenge that is most likely ever planned is likely Rice. Once upon a time, Owls had a solid football program. But they have been a forgotten team for decades. They defeated Alabama three times in the 1950s in three years, which Ears Whitworth (4-24-2) insulted on the sidelines of Tuscaloosa. Rice probably doesn’t want any part of Alabama ass-whoping. (0-3)
