Lucas Giolito blows up Josh Donaldson after a ‘sticky’ barb: ‘Classless move’

CHICAGO – Lucas Giolito heard what Josh Donaldson said and no one was too pleased.

The right-handed ace also had something to say.

Giolito drove an explosive response in the direction of Donaldson as Slugger seemed to shout, “No more sticky” after the first-year home drove a 7-6 win for the Chicago White Sox from the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday night.

Giolito, who got his first win of the month at the start of his 100th career, handed the two-run run to Donaldson on the fifth field. Donaldson’s obvious comment came as he rubbed his hands together and traveled to the twins’ well. He has been one of the most direct slugers in baseball when it comes to sticky feeders that the league recently started.

“I actually saw it. He’s a pest,” Giolito said. “It’s a kind of unclassified business.”

Giolito said that if Donaldson wants to talk, he should talk to the pitcher’s face.

“Don’t go over the home page and do everything, just come to me,” he said.

Donaldson was not made available to the media after the game.
