Sky Sports cricket manager Bryan Henderson talks to Broadcast Sport editor Jake Bickerton about the launch of The Hundred cricket tournament, which starts next month.

One hundred aims to bring new audiences to cricket with simply understandable rules, fast-paced gameplay, and shape-building for entertainment.

Henderson explains why The Hundred is different than before, and then gives a great picture of Sky Sports ’plans to cover a new form of cricket.

Sky has been involved in Hundred since the early stages of film development and has designed five pillars to support how it presents and produces content about Hundred. These are:

  1. Cricket is for everyone
  2. Sports-led entertainment
  3. Who wins?
  4. Closer to the players
  5. To force once and for all

Henderson explains all of these pillars in detail in this podcast, focusing on how they have influenced Sky Sports ’approach to the production and broadcast of the series.

He will also deal with a legal agreement that Sky will become the host broadcaster and show all the games, and the BBC will also broadcast 18 live matches from the tournament.
