Tunisian Ons Jabeur made history with a spectacular comeback win over Iga Swiatek at Wimbledon Manic on Monday.

The 21st seed beat Swiatek despite initially slipping into a one-set deficit to reach its first Wimbledon semi-final. Unbelievable that he lost just two games in the last two sets when he came through 5-7 6-1 6-1.

Jabeur was not expected to find his way past the seventh seed, which had played so impressively in SW19, but he herded back after losing the opening set to make a memorable win.

By winning, the Tunisian has become the first Arab to rise to the semifinals of the Grand Slam on the grass field.

It is noteworthy that his battled victory over Swiatek is his third consecutive scalp of the Grandmaster when he defeated Garbine Muguruza and Venus Williams, who are both former Wimbledon champions.

Swiatek is one of five players – men and women – to have achieved the second week of all three Grand Slams to date in 2021, but this time he simply couldn’t answer Jabeur’s shot after the opening set.

World number four and second seed Aryna Sabalenka defeated Elena Rybakina, 6-3 4-6 6-3, to set up a meeting with Jabeur and reach her first Grand Slam semi-final.
