The Secretary of Defense agrees to Buccaneers CB Cameron Kinley’s request to play football

Cameron Kinley, a former naval captain from Tampa Bay Buccaneers, said on Tuesday that he has been given the opportunity to attend a training camp.

Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin agreed to Kinley’s request to try to make a list of Bucs before the award was made to the Navy. Kinley’s original request was denied.

Kinley, an untreated free agent, expressed gratitude for the decision and his enthusiasm for the opportunity to make an NFL list.

“I am very grateful for Secretary Austin’s decision and I am excited to represent our great army in the National Football League. The past month has been very challenging and grateful to everyone who has supported me in any way,” Kinley’s opinion read, in part. “Thank you to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for believing in me and staying patient with me throughout the process. I am excited to be back to work in Tampa Bay with my teammates.”

The Kinley Office also issued an opinion.

“Cameron is a great young man and we are very happy about him. We discuss our values ​​and beliefs with each player we represent, and one of them is, ‘We are a family and we always support each other.’ “This was not an easy achievement, and we worked tirelessly to make it happen,” the statement said read in part.

In 2019, a rule introduced in 2017 that banned athletes from delaying military missions was amended to allow for exceptions. However, Kinley got no exception and confusion ensued. Much of this confusion appears to have been cleared up for Kinley on Tuesday.

As a parent of Midshipmen, Kinley collected 26 tactics, interception and five assists defended in eight games.

Now he has a beat to make a list as Bucs’s untreated free agent, which is all he was trying to get.
