The Ash Bartys journey from a younger miracle to the pinnacle of glory

June 2019: After winning Marketa Vondrousova 6-1, 6-3, Barty becomes Margaret Court’s first Australian woman in 46 years to win a French Open role with Roland Garros. At the age of 23, she is now a major winner and taking the world first place two weeks after winning the Germanys Julia Goerges 6-3, 7-5 in the Birmingham Classic final.

January 2020: Named the Young Australian of the Year for his inspiring sports results and grace under fire. Simultaneously with Canberra’s announcement, he will fight to win the Australian Open, but the world final 14 and final winner Sofia Ken will win it in the semi-finals.

September 2020: Barty will turn his attention to golf after deciding to defend his French Open title and overtake the US Open due to the outbreak of COVID-19, and will become the women’s champion at Brookwater Golf Club. In the qualifying rounds of the stroke games, he finished first out of the last eight, in shooting rounds 77 and 80. He wins the tournament, defeating his opponents in the 7th and 5th finals. Barty originally met his long-time partner, aspiring professional athlete Garry Kissick in 2016 at the Brookwater Club.

January 2021: After an 11-month hiatus, Barty returns to competitive tennis and finishes in two WTA tournaments in Melbourne ahead of the Australian Open. In the Open, Barty loses Karolina Muchova in three sets in the quarterfinals.

June 2021: Forced to withdraw from his second-round match in the French Open by taking an injury to the hip. Its heartbreaking, Barty at the time.

July 6, 2021: Barty will face another Australian Ajla Tomljanovic in the Wimbledon quarterfinals. Two Australian women will meet for the first time at this stage of the tournament since 1980. Just over an hour Barty wins, 6-1, 6-3.

July 8, 2021: Barty defeated 2018 Wimbledon champion Angelique Kerber and became the first Australian woman to reach the Wimbledon singles final after Evonne Goolagong Cawley in 1980.

On Saturdays, the finale is an opportunity for Barty to achieve his childhood dream of winning Wimbledon 50 years after his mentor and Indigenous Australian Evonne Goolagong Cawley have won. First, the shell must face Karolina Pliskova when the Czech won World No. 4 Aryna Sabalenka.
