Minor League Cricket Announces Sponsored by Toyota | Cricket news

Minor League Cricket (MiLC) on Wednesday announced car manufacturers Toyota’s sponsorship season’s inaugural season in 2021. The Toyota Minor League Cricket Championship will feature SLING TV.
The championship is scheduled to begin on July 31 and end on October 3.
The league will host 10 weekends of T20 games, culminating in the final weekend of 2-3. October. The total prize money offered in the competition is $ 250,000, the largest purse ever by American cricket.
A total of 27 teams will compete for the championship in four geographic divisions in the eastern, central, southern and western United States. More than 200 games are held in 21 cities in the United States.
Minor League Cricket and its 27 team owners invested $ 4,000,000 to host the tournament, the largest competition in American cricket ever.

Online streaming service provider Sling TV believes it was set up to showcase cricket to American viewers.

The scale and level of competition the Minor League Cricket will launch this summer will help build a pathway to develop young, talented crickets across the country to become national team stars, said Iain Higgins, CEO of USA Cricket.
The league offers a huge step forward toward the vision of making cricket a mainstream sport in the United States, Higgins added.
