The Ministry of Sports yesterday granted an amount of Rs. 350,000 to the Sri Lankan Table Tennis Federation (TTASL) for the construction of a sports complex in Bandaragama.
Amal Edirisooriya, Director General of the Ministry of Sports, presented the contract documents to the President of TTASL and the State Minister of Real Estate Reforms Kanaka Herath in the presence of Minister of Sports Namal Rajapaksa at a ceremony in the auditorium of the National Sports Council. The Ministry of Sports hopes to distribute more infrastructure services for table tennis to achieve successful results.
Funds will be allocated for the establishment of a high-performance center in Bandaragama, including a gym, swimming pool and stadium with all modern technologies.
The Ministry of Sports also plans to set up a dormitory for national players for training and accommodation.
