Kazakhstan Olympic team benefits from martial arts, cycling and swimming thanks to cultural heritage

NUR-SULTAN – In front of the Tokyo 2021 Summer Olympics, the Kazakh Olympic team of 95 athletes is predicted to be superior in martial arts, martial arts including boxing and judo, cycling and swimming, the press service said. Kazakhstan National Olympic Committee on 2 July.

Traditionally, we have always invested in martial arts and martial arts. At the Tokyo Olympics, priorities have changed as athletes represent new sports. That’s why we can talk about medals in boxing, judo, cycling, weightlifting and swimming. These are the main types of priorities where we expect good performance from athletes, said Andrey Kryukov, Secretary General of the Kazakh Olympic Committee.

This year, 95 national team athletes won 96 Olympics in 27 sports.

Kazakh athletes Olga Rypakova, a three-jump Olympic champion who won Olympic medals in all four matches in which she competed, Olympic swimming champion Dmitry Baland and silver medalist Kamshybek Kunkabayev of the World Boxing Championship are considered grandiose winners.

Compared to previous Rio Olympics, the Kazakh Olympic team has received fewer permits to compete in weightlifting, boxing, rowing and kayaking, messaging, athletics. Areas where the team has been able to obtain more licenses than in 2016 include cycling, tennis, table tennis, artistic gymnastics, archery and karate.

Of the new Olympic categories, Kazakhstan will perform for the first time this year in rock climbing and karate.

The Kazakh men’s water polo team competes as the only national team in Tokyo. It will appear at the Olympics after an eight-year hiatus.

Kazakh cyclists won three driving licenses in sprint, omnium and keirin, marking the first time Kazakh athletes have competed in the sprint cycling class at the Olympics.

The Olympic national team met with Kazakh President Kassym-Yomart Tokajev July 2 before leaving for Tokyo on 16 July.

The Summer Olympics begin on July 23 and end on August 8.
