Cricket Taskin, Mehidy Bowl from Bangladesh for a rare guest test win v

REUTERS: Seamer Taskin Ahmed and spinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz took four gates when Bangladesh bowled Zimbabwe to 256 to win a 220 run just before tea on the fifth day of Harare Sports Club’s only test on Sunday.

Zimbabwe had been set an awesome goal for a 477 victory and made a good start by reaching 110 for one before the gate of the experienced Brendan Taylor (92 balls out of 73 balls) started to slide.

They continued on the fifth morning with 140 for three, but lost four fast gates when Mehidy (4-66) and Taskin (4-82) tore the middle row.

Donald Tiripano (52) held the penalty for Bangladesh, but after he fell to ninth, tourists were only able to record their fifth away match in 59 matches and their first after winning Sri Lanka in Colombo in 2017.

It is their second win in Zimbabwe, and two other away wins will both come in the West Indies in 2009.

The teams will now compete in the three-match One-Day International series starting on Friday, followed by three Twenty20 matches.
