Pakistan suffered their second defeat on a British tour against a second-bow England team in the Lord of London on Saturday (July 10). After a delay of the first half hour of rain, the Pakistani players who drove started brilliantly and took 2 gates in five matches.

The 97-round partnership between Philip Salt of England (60) and World Cup winner James Vincen (56) was restored after an early stutter.

The Pakistani players were unable to keep up the pressure and England ended up putting a total of 247 on board. The overall proved to be sufficient after Pakistan had won 195 players and lost by exactly 52 runs.

Pakistan’s poorer performance against the Ben Stokes-led side gave former cricketers a new opportunity to criticize members of the Babar Azam-led side. And once again, Shoaib Akhtar criticizes green men.

Akhtar criticized Shaheen Afrid for his celebration and asked the young man to have more wickets on his scalp instead of celebrating with flying kisses and hugs.

“Shaheen Afridi likes blowing flying kisses more than taking visits. Take at least five gates or run through the lineup you hit before those hugs and flying kisses. What’s the point of doing it after just one gate, ”Akhtar told Cricket Pakistan.

“Don’t make excuses as the team has not been attacked. They [England] the team met two and a half days before the match and they were able to gel, but you weren’t despite the fact that you were together for 30 days. You lost to the English Academy team, ”he added.

Afridi bowled an impressive spell 8-0-37-1 in the second ODI. He was Pakistan’s only gatekeeper in the opening game, which guests lost by 9 gates.

The Pakistani team is currently struggling with different divisions in the series and may make some changes to the 3rd ODI to be played on Tuesday, July 13th.

Both teams are also scheduled to play three T20Is starting July 16th. Eoin Morgan and England’s first-choice players are expected to return to 20 matches. The T20Is will be played on July 16, 18 and 20.
