4 arrested after a weapons cache was found at a hotel near the upcoming MLB All-Star Game in Denver

Four people were arrested on Friday when a hotel employee notified authorities of a weapons cache in a Maven hotel room in Denver, Colorado.

The hotel where the guns were found is about a block from Coors Field, where the MLB All-Star Game will be held on Tuesday. Denver police feared Las Vegas-style shooting during the game after a hotel boy had knocked them down by guns. CNN subsidiary KMGH.

We have no reason to believe that this incident was related to terrorism or a threat to the Star Game, the FBI Denver said in a statement. We are not aware of any threats to All-Star Game events, venues, players or the community at this time.

Denver police initially responded to the Maven Hotel on Friday with a report of the suspicious incident. After receiving a search warrant, searches of two rooms and the seizure of two vehicles, three men and a woman were arrested, police said in a press release. Individuals were identified as Richard Platt, 42; Gabriel Rodriguez, 48; Ricardo Rodriguez, 44; and Kanoelehua Serikawa, 43.

The Maven Hotel is about a block from Coors Field, which hosts the MLB All-Star game on Tuesday.

Plata was charged with possession of a weapon by the previous offender, possession of a controlled substance to two degrees. Platt also had a decision on another jurisdiction, Denver police said in a press release.

Gabriel Rodriguez was charged with possession of a weapon by a previous offender and possession of controlled substance for distribution purposes.

Ricardo Rodriguez was charged with investigating a previous offender for possession of a weapon.

Serikawa was charged with investigating possession of a controlled substance for distribution purposes. Serikawa also had an order from another jurisdiction, police said.

CNN has not been able to reach any of the detainees and is trying to find out if they have legal representation.

Sage Hospitality, the operator of the Maven Hotel, issued a statement saying it was incredibly proud that our team quickly reported the matter to the authorities.

We are grateful to DPD for their prompt action to resolve the situation safely and will continue to work closely with them to support the investigation.

CNN has contacted the Denver Mayor’s Office and MLB but has not heard of the matter.

Denver Mayor Michael B. Hancock and other Denver law enforcement officials said they plan to hold a press conference at 4:30 p.m. ET to provide an update on arrests and security measures for MLB All-Star Week.
