Tribune-Review and TribLive High School Sports Network profile all 25 members of the Trib HSSN Preseason Football All-Star team. Players will be recognized on July 22 during HSSN Media Day in Kennywood Park.

Quinton Martin has scholarship offers from Pitt, Penn State, West Virginia, Rutgers, Virginia Tech and Maryland.

This is a list you might see from wanted customers coming to his or her older year.

But here’s the thing: Martin is just a sophomore. Belle Vernon’s child is 15 years old.

“It’s crazy,” Martin said. “I’m going to make a decision by the older year. I want to go through the recruitment process and experience everything. “

With three high school years and possibly the best football ahead, Martin will be one of the most sought after recruiters in the 2024 class. But what is his best position?

If there has ever been an upward comer who embodies the most vague but free “athlete” symbol, it is Martin.

“You look at some kids and say, OK, he’s a recipient or he’s a QB,” Belle Vernon coach Matt Humbert said. “Then you look at Q and it’s like, where do you put him? It could be a problem for the coach. It’s your job not to get around it.”

Martin, TribLive HSSN Preseason Top 25 lock, is set to play coin receiver, return and safety for the leopards who made it to the WPIAL Class 4A semi-finals last season before falling to Aliquipa.

Martin, who weighs 6 feet and weighs 180 pounds and said he hasn’t grown up yet, was pushed into the backfield last year when Dane Anden was injured. It marked the beginning of a stellar career. Martin earned MaxPreps Freshman American decorations.

“We want to get Q out of space,” Humbert said. “I’m really impressed with his intelligence at such a young age. I have never had a child pick up basic checks so quickly. “

Long-range Martin ran 425 yards and six taps and also caught two TD passes. He was abducted in defense.

He will once again become a key weapon alongside another electronic player, Elder Devin Whitlock, a general-purpose performer who plays a quarterback, sees time in a slot game, restores punches and continues to cover the ground in defensive defense.

Martin and Whitlock in the same receiving group or secondary group have a scary proposition to opponents.

“It’s crazy to be in the presence of a freak,” Whitlock said of Martin.

The pair have shown what they can do on the basketball court, and Whitlock pulls alley-oop passes to go-up-and-get-it-Martin. They want to double football without a doubt the highlights – and win.

“We want to go out and prove to everyone that we are the best,” Martin said. “We work every day because we are determined to win the WPIAL and state championships. We are motivated by a setback (semi-final loss). “

Martin has been on Pitt’s campus and met with coaches. He plans to visit the state of Penn to do the same.

Of all its value, he said his dream of growing was to play safety for Penn State. But this dream can get in the details as more deals come and Martin continues.
