Former wild pier Zach Parise says the purchase leaves a sour taste

On Tuesday morning, Minnesota Wild shocked the entire hockey world and those that extended far into the continent by announcing the purchase of the remaining four years in massive expansions by both Zach Parise and Ryan Suters, which they signed back as free agents in the summer of 2012.

While the change leaves a huge imprint on their future payroll and how they deal with the upcoming expansion draft next week, Wild will move from two franchise faces over the past decade. Two players were brought here to install a new meaning on Minnesota hockey, and now they’re simply gone.

Unfortunately, its ending this way, Parise said through the Star Tribune. It leaves a slightly sour taste.

Over the course of nine years, Parise spent with the wild, playing a total of 44 games in the aftermath, which has plagued this franchise program from gaining ever meaningful experience over the past decade.

Ryan Suter reported hanging wild GM during Bill Guerin’s call, where he talked about the situation, but before that, he talked to another latest free agent.

Hed said he was with Craig, Parise recalled. When I heard it, I thought it wasn’t going to be great news. He had explained to me what happened, what happened. I said: All right, and that’s it.

Last season, for the first time, Parise felt there was a healthy scratch while in Minnesota, and it struck an unpleasant lead with him.

Parise said the words are hard to say. I think it would be difficult to underestimate. You have your expectations and thoughts about the passage of the seasons when it doesn’t shake it and quite frankly. From a personal standpoint, it just wasn’t great. I don’t know how else to put it … It didn’t work the way I wanted it to.

What’s next for Parise? Well, there will be a lot of suitors who love the fact that someone with a pile and a pile of experience doesn’t have that much cork space. He himself seems to think that he can still produce and participate in a very good team.

I know I’m a good player, said almost 37-year-old Parise. As mentally challenging as it was during the season, as much as you start to question many things about what happened during the year, I know I’m a good player. I don’t sit here at home questioning my skills or ability to play in the NHL at all.

It’s interesting what teams choose for the veteran player, but there’s no doubt that he enjoyed his time in Minnesota and his time moving to a new look for his old franchise team.
