SEC is full of talented football players, a fact NFL draft. The conference has selected the most players in each of the last 15 years.
But who is the league’s best player for 2021? The US TODAY Sports Network’s SEC-based sports journalists were tasked with selecting the top ten players in each location and the top 10 players.
LSU driver Derek Stingley Jr. was an escaping choice as the league’s number one player and secured nine out of 17 possible first places. Ten points were awarded for the first place vote, and one point for the tenth vote. Forty players received votes, including top players from all 14 schools. Seven players won first place votes.

Alabama was the only school with more than one player in the top ten, three: offensive bus driver Evan Neal, receiver John Metchie III and linebacker Christian Harris.
The USA TODAY Sports Network is counting on the SECMedia Days scheduled for July 19-22. In Hoover, Alabama, revealing their top players in each location group.
Here’s an overview of the top 10 players, regardless of location:
1. Derek Stingley Jr.
LSU, junior cornerback (143 points, 9 first place)
Stingley tried to copy the spectacular 2019 season as he struggled with injuries, but was generally avoided on passport routes when opposing defenders looked elsewhere. He is predicted to be the voter of the top five NFL drafts.
Glenn Guilbeau
2. Evan Neal
Alabama, junior offensive battle (79 points, first place)
Neal brings the power and versatility needed to play multiple locations at a high level. In 2021, he will play third place for as many seasons as he is expected to slide left.
Nick Kelly
3.Matt Corral
Ole Miss, Junior Defender (77 points, 1 first place vote)
Corral led the entire country last year by 384.3 yards per game. He threw 3,337 yards and 29 touches and ran 506 yards and four touches, overtaking at least 300 yards in seven of ten games.
Nick Suss
4. Kaiir Elam
Florida, junior cornerback (60 points)
Elam is predicted to be the first round of choice in several 2022 model drafts. Last year, he made 39 tackles, two interruptions and 11 pass breakups, earning the first team an All-SEC rating.
Zach Abolverdi
5. John Metchie III
Alabama, junior wide receiver (52 points, 1 first place audio)
Metchieha has the opportunity to lead Alabama’s host team as he plays in several first-round bets. He got 55 assists averaging 16.7 and six touches last season.
Nick Kelly
6. (tie) Tank Bigsby
Auburn, sophomore (49 points, 1 first place vote)
The reigning SEC freshman of the year, Bigsby rushed more yards last season (834) than Bo Jackson did during his debut season in 1982. Pro Football Focus believes it can be the best runner in the country.
Josh Vitale
6. (tie) JT Daniels
Georgia Junior Defender (49 points)
Daniels quickly resolved the volatile quarterback situation last season and started 4-0. He gave the Bulldogsan an explosive vertical passing game, throwing 10 touches and averaging 307.8 yards.
Marc Weiszer
8. Christian Harris
Alabama, junior indoor player (43 points)
Harris is an explosive and decisive defender on the Will bus. In 2020, he finished with 79 total games, seven losses, 4.5 sacks, an interruption and two pass breakups.
Nick Kelly
9. DeMarvin Leal
Texas A&M, junior defensive tackle (42 points)
Leal is one of the best defense options in the country. He had 37 tackles, 2.5 sacks, four feed bends, abduction, forced walking, and a recovery in walking in 2020.
James Fletcher
10. Charles Cross
Mississippi, Second Year Students (41 points, 1 first place vote)
Cross started out of ten games out of 11 in 2020. ESPN NFL Draft analyst Todd McShay is at Cross’s fourth in the New York Jets in the 2022 model sketch.
Tyler Hork
