Michigan football games are the most controversial games

If you’re a Michigan football fan, you already know that Ahmats are rarely on the good side of a fortune in winning nearby football games. From Kordell Stewart’s hailstorm to trouble with a competitor MSU, corn and blue always seem to find creative ways to lose.

But it’s not always the talented or cheeky play that eventually makes Michigan falter.

247Sports viewed the ten most controversial games in college football since 2000, and the first game mentioned was the infamous ‘Spartan Bob’ fiasco in 2001, when it looked like Michigan football had won the game before extra time was added to the clock, allowing TJ Duckett to drop corn and blue.

There have been many memorable races in the series of races between Michigan and the state of Michigan, although the 2001 meeting between schools is best remembered for the controversy that arose during the last Spartan race. A tightly controversial game all the way, Michigan took the 24-20 lead in the game with 5 minutes left when John Navarre gave a 20-yard touch to Jermaine Gonzales.
