RED CITY – Reed City football teams have got a lot of work done in July over the past few years.
They have the conference championship awards on display for it.
Last week, coach Scott Shankel and Coyotes did another set of summer drills.
“We’ve lifted, turned the tires and done some camp-type stuff and with 7 on 7,” Shankel said. “We put our system in and remind them of it.”
Last week, Reed City had a transient camp in Freeland and it was planned in Clare.
This week, Coyotes was scheduled to have a bypass camp in Mason County Central and Mount Pleasant.
The turnout in recent years has been impressive as coyotes continue a winning football tradition that seems to bring good figures.
“It’s a hit and miss. But we’re doing well,” Shankel said. “We’re getting about 50 kids.”
The skill camp is the last week of July. Iron Man camps are usually on the training ground on Sunday at 6:30 p.m.
The rehearsals will officially begin on August 9th. The first match will be in Cadillac on August 26 and the CSAA opening in Grant on September 2. The first two home games will be on September 10 in Tri County and on September 17 in Chippewa Hills. Coyotes will play in Big Rapids on September 24th and will be at downtown Montcalm on October 1st.
