Fordham Football announces staff additions

Bronx, Fordham head coach in New York Joe Conlin announced today the addition of assistant coaches Allen Gant (linebackers), Andrew Force (outside linebackers), and David Weeks (tight ends) and rental Delvin Jones as an assistant sports director in football operations.

Allen Gant will arrive in Fordham after serving as defensive coordinator / linebackers coach at West Virginia Wesley College in 2020-2021.

In 2019, Gant served as a defending defender coach at Slippery Rock, where he helped guide The Rock in the NCAA Division II semifinals after receiving the Pennsylvania State Sports Conference title. Gant returned to alma mater Michigan for the 2018 season as a defensive trainee. He assisted Wolverine with outside defenders and analyzed the opponents ’feed game.

Gant was a devourer outside of linebacker and security from 2012-2015. His father, Tony, also played in Michigan as a safety and punt / kick return from 1983-1985.

A native of Ohio, Sylvania, graduated from Michigan in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in literature, science, and the arts. Gant and his wife Lia have a son Allen Jr.

Andrew Force, who has served as Rams’ volunteer defensive quality control coach from 2020-2021, has been promoted to assistant coach responsible for non – alma mater liners in 2021.

In 2020, Forced served as a tight / perfect back coach at Marian University in Indianapolis, Indiana. He collaborated with the offensive coordinator on all aspects of scouting and game design, and managed and indexed all of the opponent’s films and training films for the offensive staff to evaluate. The Force also guided tight heads and perfect spines through regular off-season and off-season meetings and practices.

Prior to Marian’s role, the Force was a defensive defense coach and director of football operations at the University of Bloomsburg from 2019-2020. He assisted the defense coordinator in all areas of scouting and game design, while at the same time analyzing and classifying all of the opponent’s films and training films for evaluation by the defense forces. Forced worked with the defense team during regular season as well as for off-season meetings and rehearsals.

Force began his coaching career at Central Columbia High School in Berwick, Pennsylvania, where he served in 2019 as an offensive coordinator and extensive host coach.

Graduated from Fordham University in 2019, the Force received a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology with a minor. He was a four-year member of the Rams football team.

David Weeks, who served as a volunteer offensive quality control coach at Fordham from 2020 to 21, has been promoted to a strictly ending coach in 2021.

Weeks arrived at Rose Hill while serving in various positions at the University of Central Florida from 2013-2019. From 2018 to 2019, he served as a student assistant coach and worked on the attack directly under head coach Josh Heupel and defenders Jeff Lebby. Weeks was responsible for input and breakdown of the opponent and self-observation film, creation of opponent / self-study film cuts, weekly post-game packages / charts, and weekly red zone report, and weekly installations. He was a member of the 2018 AAC championship team that played in the Fiesta Bowl.

In the fall of 2017, Weeks served as a student assistant to the knights as a tight-headed coach, where he worked with the attack under head coach Scott Frost and especially with tight heads directly under tight coach Sean Beckton. His duties included assisting with manuscripts, producing strict tips and reminders on a weekly basis, and creating a weekly opponent depth chart. He was a member of the 2017 UCF team that won the AAC title and defeated Auburn 34-27 in the 2018 Peach Bowl to get a perfect season 12-0.

Weeks began his tenure in Central Florida as equipment manager from 2013-2016. In his final year as equipment manager, he also worked on a wide receiver for individual episodes to assist offensive coordinator Troy Walters.

Weeks is a 2018 graduate of Seminole State College in Orlando.

Delvin Jones will arrive in Fordham after returning to Georgia Tech as a football coordinator in 2020.

Prior to his tenure at Georgia Tech, Jones was an associate director of sports activities at Florida Gulf Coast University from 2019-2020.

Jones spent four years as both a senior accountant and financial operations expert at the Georgia Tech Athletic Association before moving to FGCU. During the Yellow Jackets, he worked with coaches and department heads to build, plan, and maintain a zero-based budget for the sports department. He distributed monthly budget reports to all coaches and department heads while helping lead monthly budget audits. He also performed monthly budget analyzes and prepared Athletic Association combinations.

Prior to working with Georgia Tech, Jones worked as Assistant Business Director and Travel Coordinator at Georgia State University from June 2011 to February 2015. He coordinated all aspects of the team and recruitment trips to 19 departments and sports programs. He also handled more than 40 travel budgets for sports teams, departments and administrators.

Jones worked with the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2010 to match all of the teams ’travel needs. He also spent time as a volunteer assistant to the Director of Football Operations at Tulane University during the 2010 football season and assisted in events and client relationships with the NFL Kansas City Chiefs in 2009-10.

Jones earned a bachelor of arts degree in public relations from Xavier University in Louisiana in 2006. He also earned a master’s degree in kinesiology and sports management from Louisiana State University in 2010.
