BEMIDJI – The Bemidji High School boys tennis team has added one more award to their fascinating 2021 seasons.
First-year head coach Kyle Fodness was named 8AA Series Coach of the Year on Tuesday.
Fodness directed the hunters to programs that were first known at the state pier in 48 years and a 15-4 team record for the season. In addition, Fodness coached senior Filippo Buffoa, who finished 23-2 and won episodes in the singles tournament.
The Lumberjacks won the defending championship in Alexandria 5-2 in the 8AA title race in June.
Fodness also coaches the BHS girls ’tennis court, which won the 8AA Division team title in October 2020 for its first championship since 2008.
