Bloody frustrating these isolation rules, says Shastri

On Saturday, Indian head coach Ravi Shastri expressed his disappointment at the 10-day isolation rules for anyone who comes in contact with a COVID-19-positive person, as happened with bowling trainee Bharat Arun, who has already completed a vaccination course.

Arun, along with senior guard Wriddhiman Saha and standby Abhimanyu Easwaran, had to be isolated for 10 days under UK health protocols because they had been in contact with drop expert, cum-masseur Dayanand Garan.

The trio returned to the team bubble on Saturday after completing a mandatory one-and-a-half-week isolation period.

This was despite the fact that they all tested negative during RT-PCR tests.

“My right hand back in the house. I look more fit and stronger after 10 days in isolation, even though testing has been negative all along. Bloody frustrating these isolation rules. You have to trust two doses of vaccine,” Shastri tweeted with self-close friend and bowling practitioner Arun.

The saw had recovered from COVID-19 in May after getting the virus while playing for the Sunrisers in Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League, which was delayed due to several incidents inside the bubble.
