Dodgers invites field player Luke Raley, option Darien Nez

When Max Muncy was on paternity leave and Mookie Betts and Cody Bellinger were not available, the Dodgers added depth to the bench on Saturday. The team called out Luke Raley and alternative pitcher Darien Nezin.

This is Raleys ’Fifth Match in Los Angeles with the Dodgers. In 27 matches, he hits .180 on the home lap and two runs. Although he struggled in the big leagues, Raley has been excellent in Oklahoma City. In 42 matches, he sent .948 OPS and had nine home runs and 43 RBIs.

Nez is sent back down after seeing last night. He gave one run together ¹₃ internal shift. He has performed in five Dodgers games this year, allowing five runs in 7 ¹₃ inner shift.

The Dodgers now have 13 place players and 13 assists, though they have only three options off the bench in the absence of Bellinger and Betts.

If you thought the Dodgers could go a day without putting a player on the injured list, you thought you were wrong. LA called Mitch White back and put Jimmie Sherfy on the list of injured with a right elbow inflammation.

This is the White’s fifth show with a big league club this season. He sent 3.93 ERA and 19 strikes in 13 matches to LA. Sherfy appeared last night in the match, allowing three runs with two hits while composing the 10th inning.

Other news and notes

• The goal and hope is to get Mookie Betts to play on Tuesday in San Francisco. He is still every day.
• Cody Bellinger may possibly see some activity at the first base when he returns, which limits running to help his neck.
• Corey Seager will go to Arizona and play some live games at Camelback Ranch early next week. Hopefully he can join Dodgers next weekend.
• Joe Kelly is not available at the bullring. Dave Roberts said he felt tender after the second night. The hope is that the pain is not long lasting.
• Clayton Kershaw will throw a simulated game early next week. Once he gets through it, there is a chance that he can go on a rehabilitation mission. Depends on how he feels after that.
