Google will require vaccinations for employees returning to the office

Google’s CEO announced Wednesday that the company will require anyone working on its campuses to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

On a note, Sundar Pichai said, getting vaccinated is one of the most important ways to keep ourselves and our communities healthy in the months to come.

Pichai said the company is also extending its work-from-home policy until October 18.

Google will notify workers at least 30 days in advance before they are required to return to the office, the statement said.

Pichais’ announcement comes as the Delta variant quickly spreads across the United States

It is unclear whether other companies will follow Google’s lead in requiring vaccinations for their employees. However, Apple CEO Tim Cook told CNBC that the company will postpone his return to office from September until at least October.
