Weekly poll: is the Google Pixel 6 duo gearing up for heroes or zero?

[ad_1]

Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro will be pretty exclusive phones no, seriously, they will only be available in eight countries (Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Taiwan, UK and US). And from the comments that Google executives have made, they won’t be cheap.

We don’t have all the details yet, quite the contrary. But Google has confirmed the most interesting parts about the Pixel 6 series that will be powered by Google’s first custom mobile chipset, the Tensor.

This is not to be confused with the Tensor cores in Nvidia GPUs (although both are named after the same thing). And not with the Pixel Visual Cores either were those custom chips designed by Google, yes, but they only handled image processing.

This Tensor is a complete chipset, i.e. CPU, GPU and so on. We still don’t know what they are, although they are most likely based on the ARM Cortex and Mali designs (the performance target is presumably the Snapdragon 870). The chip will be produced in Samsung’s 5nm foundries (according to rumors), from which Snapdragon 888 and Exynos 2100 also come. The most important feature of the chipset will be the machine learning hardware, which will surpass typical NPUs.

And for once Google doesn’t use old-fashioned camera hardware The Pixel 6 Pro will be equipped with a telephoto lens with 4x magnification, the vanilla model will only have a dual camera (wide + ultrawide). Google says it has been working on its implementation of video recording and will improve the iPhone 12 Pro Max.

The company also revealed the basics on the screens. The Pro phone will have a 6.7 to 120Hz curved display with a resolution of 1,440 x 3,120 pixels. Vanilla will have a 6.4 90Hz flat panel with 1080p + resolution. Both are most likely AMOLED displays.

Like the Pixel 5, the new models will have aluminum frames. But the design is a complete departure with a rectangular camera bump that spans the width of the phone.

These are the official figures, but we have also seen rumors. The main camera is said to be equipped with a 50MP sensor, the ultra-wide 12MP one. As for the Pro model, its telephoto lens will be paired with a 48MP high-resolution sensor.

The Tensor chipset will be spoiled by as much as 12 GB of RAM. Storage options are 128GB and 256GB, with an additional 512GB option for the Pro. The leak also detailed battery capacity: 4,614mAh for the smallest phone, 5,000mAh for the largest.
