Hyderabad doctor pledges 350 cr to create a non-profit healthcare university, innovation hub

HYDERABAD: Dr. Ravindranath Kancherla, founder of the Global Hospitals Group, announced that it is pledging 70% of its wealth of over $ 50 million (350 crore) to build a world-class medical education, research and innovation institution with no purpose of for-profit in Hyderabad, worldwide The University Foundation said Tuesday.

Ravindranath is in the process of establishing Global HealthTech University & Innovation Hub (GHUIH), a non-profit organization with significant investments, to offer health care to help the Indian and global population.

GHUIH would consist of one of the best medical universities and hospitals on a global scale with a multidisciplinary focus on research and innovation. It takes over $ 100 million over a seven-year period to establish a medical university, a 750-1,000-bed hospital, and a health technology innovation center with advanced medical technology and human resources.

“GHUIH was established in Hyderabad, India to provide a new model for the sustainable development of medical infrastructure, which helps the global population by building infrastructure on philanthropic models. While his contribution will take care of 50% of the required capital, many of his philanthropic friends from the medical, pharmaceutical, technology and commercial sectors around the world have shown a keen interest in contributing the necessary funds to the balance, as well as supporting the cause with ideation and knowledge, he said.
