In the casino-style app lawsuits filed separately against Google, Apple, and Facebook, the plaintiffs’ lawyers took a risk – they wanted to consolidate the dozens of cases and appoint themselves as an executive team.
All three tech companies have accepted parts of the plan, but have also opposed a similar Frankenstein proceeding. In Monday’s papers, defendants raised concerns about sharing confidential information with their competitors, mixing different legal theories and creating an inflated leadership team that could result in significant legal fees.
