COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado – Manufacturing strategies are constantly evolving in the wood products industry. Technological advances pass what was once the state of the art. Design trends come and go. The economy goes up and down. New competitors and market opportunities emerge and with them come new sets of challenges. Then there is the mad rush to adapt to an unexpected disruptive event, such as the coronavirus pandemic.

At the Executive Briefing Conference, representatives from three tech-savvy companies will share their perspectives on the importance of making strategic investments in improving capital. Not only will they discuss how to adapt technologies that will increase productivity, but they will also facilitate a high degree of flexibility to allow manufacturers to adapt to changes in the market and the economy.

Presenters on the production strategies panel will include:

Jill Meredith, technical service manager at Haworth, one of the largest and best known manufacturers of office and contract furniture in the world. Meredith has been involved in Haworths’ manufacturing operations for more than 25 years. In the 2016 video below, he compares his passion for contributing to the success of Haworths production with winning cycling races.

Andrew Campbell, founder and CEO of Eastern Millwork, has been named the 2020 Wood Industry Market Leader by Woodworking Network. Campbell is credited for helping Eastern Millwork achieve a high level of success by leveraging design innovation, automation, technology and lean manufacturing. The company has made major investments to become a one-batch manufacturer.

Gary Wernlund, Stiles Machinery’s office furniture product manager, will moderate the panel. He will set the table for the round table with his long-awaited Technology Forecast presentation. Wernlund said part of the panel discussion will focus on how the presenting companies approach their ROI strategy to make investments that provide a good solution not only now, but also when changes come in the future.

The EBC is scheduled for September 8-10 at Broadmoor. Find out more and register.
