Amazon has added a valuable new feature to Alexa: You can now choose to have more time to complete your statement or question before Alexa answers you. The feature could be useful if you’d like a little more time before Alexa responds to what you were saying, but it’s also a useful accessibility feature, particularly for people with speech impairments who may need more time to say something. If you want to enable it, you can activate it in the Alexa App.
The company also added the ability for Android users to type requests into the Alexa app. This feature could be useful when you don’t want to use your voice to ask Alexa a question, but it could also be an accessibility benefit. This feature, which was first added to the iOS version of the Alexa app in December 2020, is in a public preview for users in the United States. Apple and Google offer similar functionality for their respective digital assistants.
