The Animal Crossing: New Horizons Direct live stream, promised during Nintendo Direct on September 23, will air on Friday, October 15 at 10am EDT, Nintendo announced on Wednesday.

A tweet from the official Animal Crossing Twitter account said the show will run for around 20 minutes and discuss content coming to Animal Crossing: New Horizons in November.

Nintendo Direct two weeks ago teased the likely return of avian barista Brewster and his coffee, The Roost. Animal Crossing New Horizons players have gotten a little impatient about the lack of new content, as March 2021 was the last time the game received a substantial post-launch update.

Since then, new content has arrived in the form of Christmas celebrations, limited-time items in Nook Shopping, and general maintenance. In July, Nintendo acknowledged the lack of content and promised more would be released by the end of the year.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons was originally released on Nintendo Switch in March 2020. Since then Nintendo has sold over 33 million copies of the game, making New Horizons the most successful Animal Crossing game to date. Animal Crossing: New Horizons certainly has fewer players these days than at launch, but that’s to be expected. However, the game has been a big plus for Nintendo, which has sold nearly 30 million Nintendo Switch consoles in the past year. It also helped fuel a Nintendo Switch shortage during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
