Gmail has gone down, with thousands of people reporting the issue with the Down Detector outage tracker.

The problem appears to only affect European users, while people in the US are not affected.

Gmail has not commented on the problem and the cause is currently unclear.

The outage prevented some people from sending emails, while others can’t access Gmail at all.

Of the Down Detector complaints, 55% reported server connection problems, while 29% said they had trouble sending or receiving emails, and 15% could not access the site.

I tested both the app and the Gmail site and they both worked as usual. I reached out to Google for a comment.
