About a month ago Facebook announced that San Andreas would be adapted as a VR experience for Oculus Quest 2, although it didn’t show any footage. After the rather chaotic launch of the GTA trilogy, where dataminers found all kinds of things Rockstar should have removed, bits of what was inside kept popping up and now someone has found a faulty but more option. or less functional for San Andreas VR.
Ben Turpin, a writer for RockstarIntel and Banned at Night, showed a debug menu command that allows the player to enter “VR”, although of course the game is played on a non-VR device (thanks, Eurogamer).
There is an Unreal debug command for GTA VR but it looks a bit unfinished. Maybe it would be great if they implemented it as a first-person option? Sounds pretty good. Firefights and punches will need tweaking, would be great for screenshots! pic.twitter.com/pxq5ivwGOANovember 20, 2021

There is no news on when the Oculus version of San Andreas, “a project in the works for many years”, will be released, although this suggests that it is run by Grove Street Games (the developer of the trilogy).
If you can’t wait for your Rockstar VR fix, modders made the entire Red Dead Redemption 2 playable in VR earlier this year and you can also get GTA 5 to work. Obviously neither game was designed for reality. virtual, so set your expectations accordingly, although it will be interesting to see what a more curated approach with San Andreas will look like in the end.
