The wait for Final Fantasy XIV’s upcoming expansion, Endwalker, is almost over and players are eager to test the new content it will bring.
The developer unveiled more information about the expansion’s content on its official website today. In addition to the final patch notes, the developers have updated all the Endwalker Job Guides so that players can get to know them before discovering the new jobs, Sage and Reaper, as well as the new skills at level 90.
Both new classes seem difficult to play initially, with unique mechanics and unusual play styles compared to the other fighting jobs in FFXIV. That’s why checking out those guides before learning their playstyle might be useful for those who want to try them after the expansion’s release.
Guides allow players to read all of their actions, traits, and measurement mechanisms. While it can be confusing to read all of their abilities without seeing them in action, it will be helpful to understand how their unique indicators will work in Endwalker.
The Sage will be the first new healing job since the astrologer’s release with Heavensward in 2015. He will be the second barrier healer along with the scholar, so the network of healers will at least want to test the class, even if they don’t want to make it the their new principal.

Sage will be the most aggressive healing work, using two different indicators. The former will increase the power of your abilities, while the other, unlocked at level 45, will offer another resource to cast abilities in addition to normal mana.
To charge the gauge, the Sage will need to apply barriers to their allies and absorb the damage. It will reinforce the need to anticipate enemy attacks to time barrier abilities and maximize their resources.

The Reaper, on the other hand, is a melee DPS. They are usually considered to be among the hardest DPS jobs to master, especially in high-end tasks, as they use a lot of positional to maximize their damage. But the Reaper won’t use many of them, which may allow the work to be more accessible to players who don’t usually do melee DPS jobs.
The DPS will use three distinct indicators: Soul, Shroud and Death, which may seem confusing at first. The Soul Gauge will be filled with kills, while the Shroud will require combined executions, similar to the Dragoon. The Death Gauge, on the other hand, will allow the Reaper to perform his deadliest combos and will be the key to his rotation to level 90.
In addition to these new pages, all other work on the official FFXIV website has been updated, which will receive new actions from level 80 to level 90 and other adjustments to maintain good synergy with the other classes. Although already announced, these changes are final and will be introduced tomorrow with Endwalker Patch 6.0.
