“The most advanced realistic robot in the world” will scare you

Get ready for Will Smith to say, “I told you so.”

A frighteningly realistic robot with realistic facial features and expressions that can “develop interaction” with people has just been unveiled by British tech company Engineered Arts.

Now available to buy or rent for an undisclosed sum, the cute android – named Ameca – has a handsome face and movable arms and is heralded as “the perfect humanoid robot platform for human-robot interaction.”

He can smile, blink regularly, gasp in shock, scratch his nose – or even have a staring contest with an owner, just for the fun of it – along with many other high-tech features.

Let the science fiction nightmares begin: According to the company, he can “build instant rapport with anyone” due to his person-like nature.

“Human-like artificial intelligence needs a human-like artificial body,” wrote Ameca’s Engineered Arts.

Ameca is intended as a cloud-connected platform for testing artificial intelligence and machine learning systems. The congeniality of the robot makes it “the perfect platform for developing the interaction between us humans and any metaverse or digital realm,” the company said.

Owners can “access all robots [sic] data, check it as [their] personal avatar, animate and simulate, all available from anywhere in the world. “

The parts of Ameca are also modular and can work independently of each other, so in some cases “you don’t need a complete robot”.

“You can have only one head, or even just one arm,” according to Engineered Arts.

A disadvantage of the high-tech robot is that programmers have not yet overcome the “difficult task” of making Ameca walk.

However, Engineered Arts is planning to make the bot more mobile in the future via updates due to its inherent interchangeability.

“The modular architecture allows for future upgrades, both physical and software, to enhance Ameca’s capabilities, all without having to fork out for a whole new robot.”

The future is here. A brand new robot called Ameca has hyper-realistic human characteristics. YouTube / Engineered Arts The robot can smile, blink, wince in shock, scratch his nose, or even have a staring contest with you.

While some labeled Ameca as “scary” and expressed that they were “worried” that it could lead, for example, to a cyber riot and a robot riot like in Will Smith’s “I, Robot”, its creators apparently have another purpose in mind for breakthrough technology.

“Impress your customers or visitors at an event or visitor attraction,” the company wrote, indicating that “the future face of robotics” could simply be used as a glorified mannequin.
